Estrogeno Trust / The Statue at the Bar

-

Unfiltered and fearless garage-rock of volume, passion, distortion and warped crescendos – Estrogeno have been hard at work on the writing and performing of new songs, and here we dive into a selection of 2026 releases from the nineties-inspired act.

Beginning with TRUST, Estrogeno pair a long-form cinematic bassline with soaring hazy pedals, riffs, an explosive drumline, and vocals that hold tightly to their energy and passion from start to finish.

It’s a garage-rock indie vibe through and through, but there’s obviously a story at work – lyrics are secondary due to the heavy effects and arrangement, but you get a sense of desperation and resolve that’s naturally catchy. The track is simple and distinct, two sections closely connected, and the overwhelming weight of the track is all the more effective when considered alongside other new releases from Estrogeno.

As an example, you don’t know what it’s like takes that same familiar voice, but dives into a kind of after-party grunge vibe, a little more reverb and a mellow pace, to represent another personal outpouring of angst that’s increasingly gritty and near euphoric at its peak.

Further contrast continues to walk us down this deeply evocative pathway. The statue at the bar is delicate, dreamy and intimate, and the Estrogeno voice sounds great here – honest in descending through these scenes and this unique, recognisable melody. The delivery is raw, honest, and that realism is refreshing – not least of all during the current downpour of automatically generated sonic sterilisation that is much of modern music.

Estrogeno values vulnerability and expression, in both performance and design, and there are clear threads of character through each song – even amidst their differences. The rising energy, the growing intensity and volume, the wave-like progressions and the passionate peaks; the emotional openness and longing to connect.

Finally, we take a look at THE NOISE INSIDE MY HEAD – a strong leading riff and countering piano setting a melancholic but recognisable mood, and the Estrogeno voice is quiet, distant, almost Oasis-like in its indie charm and poetry.

This song is seemingly reflective of mental health turmoil, isolation and sadness – of feeling overwhelmed by a world that refuses to wait for us or even provide a warm welcome. The song meanders from stillness to fuzzy as ever, and it’s hypnotic, and painfully relatable. A definite highlight, the chemistry seems perfect for falling into these feelings and getting a sense of being understood or less alone in your contemporary isolation and struggles.

That’s what you can always count on Estrogeno for – the humanity, the pain, the outcry and emotional outlet; the clarity and subsequent relief or calm. All of these new songs both fit well within and help elevate the growing Estrogeno playlist.
