Something deliberate and of depth – something which, at first, quietly creeps into the room, then suddenly takes full command of it.
Three original compositions, a post-rock instrumental guitar arrangement of expressions, with a thought-provoking title and a boldly hypnotic blend of familiar loops and clear rising passion and intensity… YNanke sets us off on a journey, to explore The love that moves the sun and the other stars.
We begin with Where the sun is silent, and the softness is calming, the guitar riff gently repeating and enveloping us, but there are eight minutes of music and journey to anticipate as this happens.
The calm becomes awakening, ultimately euphoric, as we’re welcomed by powerful drum hits, additional guitars, distortion, ambient waves of soulful peaks, new riffs, and a fine blend of simplicity and complex human emotions.
It’s a celebration of sorts, impossible to turn away from, but it also feels quite overwhelmingly emotional on occasion, particularly when listened to at volume – something highly recommended for the true impact.
YNanke the guitarist, composer, artist, crafts something precise and focused, something purposeful, and presents a three-track EP of epic proportions here; almost prog-rock with a twist of pop; some comforting phrases, some hints of darkness later on, but familiar threads of identity always making this instantly recognisable on returning.

Where the stars are blind follows, another delicate riff, a subtle guitar tone, plenty of space. A lullaby almost, slowly evolving into a confrontational atmospheric outpouring of darkness and uncertainty. The sound is fascinating, fiercely unsettling, and again impossible to ignore. The precision and emotion are powerful, and the playing, the tones, the journey, all feels well-rooted amidst the YNanke sound and this specific EP.
Finally, one last masterful use of contrast and growth – Where words are Inexpressible pairs two echoing guitar lines, as we’re plunged into an arena-ready explosion of rising energy and soulful tonality. This closing track is perhaps the most distinct of all – quick-fingered riffs of shorter velocity notes / staccato playing against an epic ocean of reverb-soaked moments, rhythms, soundbites, subtle scenes, and patterns.
It’s all comforting but provocative, familiar and non-intrusive, yet as always euphoric, and this crescendo feels both happy and heart-breaking somehow. The music is yours to interpret, of course, and given the instrumental purity, this is a project that could note powerful differences in how each listener receives and connects with it. In short though, YNanke has crafted something profoundly evocative, and the organic nature of The love that moves the sun and the other stars meets with the humanity and heart of its intentions perfectly well.
