Indie songwriting champion Gary Louca (of Deltiimo) takes things back to the bare essentials this season, and the result is one of his most streamed and well-received singles yet.
Built around a simple, relatable concept, with heartfelt melodies and a comforting piano, bass and beat combination underneath, Travelling Home To You features Gary Louca’s own voice at the front, and offers a softly sung progression through thoughts of longing and excitement with regard to returning home to a loved one.
Whether you’ve been working away, stuck on location or simply distanced from family and loved ones for personal reasons, Travelling Home To You is an accessible, universal ode to the value of and need for togetherness, and to the wonders and safety of being home with the people who truly matter.
The song is merely two minutes and nine seconds in full, but the melody and sentiments connect in that time, the purity of the concept and the warmth and hopeful brightness of the music and melody, all presenting as sincere and relatable.
Travelling Home To You has already been picked up by sync licensing for potential use in TV and film, and the song’s timeless arrangement style, the evocative nature of the chorus and title, all makes sure to settle in as a calming and optimistic earworm for the colder seasons.
