Edmond Bruneau Singles and Jingles

-

Songwriter and producer Edmond Bruneau compiles the very best of his lost singles and feature songs from a colourful career. The album Singles and Jingles is a bright and catchy collection of versatile anthems and singalongs, and highlights the strength of songwriting and design that drives everything from the creative Edmond Bruneau corner.

Featuring songs from the likes of Whistlewit and Robot Raven combined, the album begins with an upbeat pop-rock topical venture that is Rule of Law, and then quickly switches gears for the haunting medieval and sultry tune Yes, It Happened To Me.

After this, we suddenly get the sharp bars of a hip hop, for the dreamy escapism of Summertime Fun, and realise that versatility is imperative here – a quality quick to impress as the album gathers creative and ever-catchy momentum.

Seventeen tracks in full make up Singles and Jingles, an album varying from folk and pop to rock, Americana, rap and even electronic music. Saving Cinderella and People Who Love Living both adopt a delicate acoustic example of the former, while Catfish Blues injects a stylish ode to the smoky bluesy backstreets of a simpler era.

No Regrets is one of the most uniquely recognisable tracks of the project’s first half, an almost Gospel-like ode to living with purpose, but so too is the brilliantly infectious and unforgettable Bagel That Saved The West – an absolute jingle that’s both addictive and unignorable, as its tuneful and choir-led warmth pours into your consciousness. Edmond’s songwriting is so incredibly eclectic, and this track feels like precisely the bagel commercial or advertisement you’d expect a big company to come out with.

This section of the album features a handful of minute-long jingles that are equally impressive and memorable. Taking Care Of Business All Over Town is a funky-smooth favourite, along with the powerful ear-worm that is the river resort jingle Good Time For Everyone.

In addition to his consistency as a songwriter, Edmond Bruneau has also recently released his new lyric book Soul of the Song, and continues to lead with an inspiring balance of talent, work ethic, and experience, to highlight the very best of a songwriting professional’s approach to the artform.
