The opening and title track is an instant early highlight from this project, and both provokes thought and lifts the mood for its vibrancy and gritty alt-country passion.
The EP then proceeds to meander through creative lanes unpredictable but engaging, such as the briefness and lower-toned simplicity of a post-punk inspired Plymouths of Fury, or the indie rock riffs and refrains of Melt Melt.
Eclecticism is free-flowing, in short, but the live sound threads the project together well, and there are so many call-and-response outbursts and catchy punk rebellion moments that it’s easy (and a pleasure) to truly lose yourself in these songs for a while.
What’s more, The Something Ain’t Rights are almost certainly a live act with something fresh, exciting, and unmissable worth experiencing in the live scene.
