Experimental indulgence of the highest order, atmospheric layers sweeping their way towards a brief but impassioned crescendo – a strange and interesting collection of original songs, from ambient suggestions to clean-cut grooves and scenes that captivate.
Scizzorman blends great songwriting with unfiltered creative expression, throughout the twists and turns of his pscyhedlic-meets-glam-pop album How To Get Your Life Right With What’s Left.
The diversity of this project is clear from the opening track alone, but as we move into the sixties groove and vocal charm of The Next Gen Is Broken, both the album’s eclecticism and songwriting strength suddenly peak. It’s an early indication of something valuable been created right in front of you.
Terri J Vinci is the voice and rhythm behind Scizzorman, a politically confrontational artist, with an extensive background in performance and composition, now taking subtle hints of influence spanning as broadly as Bowie and Zappa to Hendrix and The Arctic Monkeys.
It’s an enjoyable album, sometimes unsettling or unpredictable, at other times brilliantly poignant, clever, and satisfying. Provocation appears to be key, in both topic and design, so if you’re genuinely looking to feel something new, to hear something fresh and undefined, this album is a pleasure to let fill the space.
