Peter Dulborough TIME TO LEAVE

-

Freshly released from his newly revised musical, a presentation inspired by Antoine De Saint-Exupéry’s The Little Prince, Peter Dulborough’s single TIME TO LEAVE presents an interesting fusion of nostalgic musicianship and subtle originality.

Reaching out from a colourful keys-led groove are joyful melodies and provocative contemplations akin to the likes of Bowie. The story is intriguing but resolves to a more anthemic chorus of unity and inspiration for its later sections. And all of this is wrapped up with a spoken segment from the musical (the title of which is The Music Of The Stars).

The closing moment hints at the bigger picture, and aptly draws you in for the long run, but really, TIME TO LEAVE is so well written and likable in and of itself, that Peter seems to have made a wise decision to launch this as a single.

Both the lyrics and musicianship, even the completed vibe, work well to appeal no doubt to a range of listeners past and present. It’s of such an enjoyable pulse, in fact, that when the music ends, the ensuing silence is a little too empty to handle.
