Professionalism and passion as ever guide the greatest songs and productions into the light. Enter artist and producer Jatzu, with an engaging and rather seamless blend of Latin and Reggaetón vibes, presented by way of a handful of gorgeously performed and faultlessly written original tracks.

Jaksan Canuelasvazquez is the composer behind the project, Jatzu the artist smoothly blending the complexity of world music compositions with the soulful and confident fluidity and warmth of mainstream pop and RnB.

As an introduction to this style, Un Señal En El Viento is extraordinary – a fast-paced yet blissfully calming track, with sublime vocals at the forefront, a clear sense of identity and groove, but a versatile performance nonetheless, underlining a clear strength in both design and delivery.

It’s an earworm of a track, the instrumental as intoxicating as the song itself, and the chemistry appears to settle quite perfectly as the song rolls along.

With a growing audience already in the thousands, Jatzu’s repertoire appears to boldly hold close to these qualities – the soulful intention, the instrumental precision, the vocal swagger and emotion, the original melodic progression and depth of the style.

Te Sigo Esperando is another hypnotic and uplifting example, and quickly recognisable once the Jatzu sound has crossed your path even just once. In this case, the song’s simplicity is striking, and that leading melody is quick to leave its mark in the mind.

For the single No Tienes Que Finjir, we get a slightly more ambient hip hop vibe initially – something touched upon in the fast pace of Un Señal En El Viento, but realised all the more so for this mellow trap set-up and rise and fall melodic intimacy.

We then get a more classic reggaetón bounce to lift the mood, as Si Es Puerto Rico, Tiene Que Ser Bueno simplifies the system, for a catchy upbeat offering that’s addictive to let fill the space. The voice is versatile again, the sections varied to deliver an extensive outpouring of story that further secures the fluidity and ability of our leading singer. And always we resolve to the satisfying easy flow of that hook.

Finally, Te Conocí En Octubre is one more highlight from the Jatzu repertoire, this time leading with an acoustic fingerstyle arrangement and intimate, mildly gritty vocals – along with a trap-style rhythm, with a mildly dark or melancholic vibe drawing focus to another side of the Jatzu creative approach.

In every case, the music is easy to appreciate, the production on point, the voice sublime and ever-capable, and the songs increasingly unique and unmistakable in both story and sound.
