equalisation Producer Tim Pitt Seeks Female Remixer

-

Producer Tim Pitt is launching a competition to find a worthy female remixer for his latest track My Love. The single itself is a fully immersive ode to the artist’s lifelong passion for electronic music, thus the winner is likely to be someone with a like-minded love for the art-form; and a clear set of impressive skills.

With the world of music and electronic music in particular being consistently dominated by men, Tim’s intention is to help re-balance the scales, by actively seeking out female producers to have their way creatively with a brand new track.

Fresh from an upcoming EP release, My Love is a smartly crafted and concise electronic composition that utilizes the classic strengths of the genre; alongside a refreshing contemporary manner of progression that effectively ignites awareness of the artist at work.

While there’s a notably experimental aura to the retro synths and the various changing stages of the track, there’s also a rather blissful calming tone to the general energy of it all, which feels decidedly trip-hop inspired in nature. Flickers of world music bring in further good vibes, a level of delicacy and intention; skillfully walking the line between being energizing or perfectly well-suited to soothe a late-night insomniac.

Coming in at barely past the three minute mark, My Love manages to create a lasting impression, presenting engaging, addictive rhythms and simple, dreamlike riffs – as well as just enough hints of humanity and concept to really invite listeners right into the centre of the experience.

A beautiful track, but interestingly one with a clearly vast potential for remix. Undoubtedly a producer and project well worth getting involved with if you think you have what it takes. Even if not, skill development and musical exploration undoubtedly draw many positives from working on remixes of existing work.

The winner of the competition will take home $100 in prize money, as well as a 50/50 split on all track royalties. The official release of the single will be March of this year. Drop Tim Pitt a line via hello@equalisation.global for more information. The closing date for entries is January 31st.
