Art Auré - Right Now - Stereo Stickman

Art Auré Right Now

-

Art Auré’s latest single is being released to coincide with her birthday. And in the same way we might wish to prolong our own birthday celebrations, Right Now is a party that certainly deserves re-listens.

As with her previous releases, there is a layering, sheen and care to this production that speaks of focus, determination and a reverence for funk and soul that goes beyond the call… Of course, Right Now is a clarion call to all to embrace the power of… well, of right now, actually – of living in the moment – to maybe switch off our screens and engage… and this song in itself it’s a vital mix of human virtuosity, interaction and engagement, to be sure.

For a start, aside from the standard band line up, there’s a full-throated, toe-tapping, swinging brass section, a string section sawing crisply away… and lest we forget, the mellifluous, engaging and beautifully-delivered vocals themselves.

It all kicks off however, with an indie-rock sounding guitar riff, which may open up this highly accomplished pop/soul/funk artist to a whole new audience. I’m put in mind of Kings of Leon, circa Only By The Night. I’m not suggesting the riff is dating the production, it’s just surprising that such a riff becomes incorporated into such a lush arrangement.

One thing’s sure – it’s definitely time to put on your dancing trousers!

‘There ain’t no wrong or right / Just go on and live your life / Go on and shine your light’. Well, we’ve covered Art’s releases here on Stereo Stickman before – and so continues Art’s musical journey – it’s an inclusive one that she seems determined to empower us all with.

And I think you can guess when she expects us to have taken care of that by?
