Following the release of his debut four-track EP, we caught up with rapper and artist TNKO, to find out more about the music and his journey to this point. Here’s how it went.

Hey Tnko – thanks for the interview! To introduce things, where are you currently based, and how long have you been making music?
I’ve been making music since I was a child and I’m currently based in Las Vegas.
For those new to your work, how would you describe your sound?
I would describe my sound as fast.
Which track of yours would you recommend to new listeners, and why?
Hands in the sky.
The production from one track to the next is brilliantly varied. Do you make your own beats, and if not – how do you decide which producers to work with?
I’ve been working with producers and honestly just browsing through YouTube.
Tell us about Get Your Act Up – how did the track come to be, and what prompted you to put so much passion and melody into this one?
Get your act up is a freestyle inspired from lots of different sounds and flows.
What about Hands In The Sky – what do you hope listeners take away from this one?
For hands in the sky I hope listeners can take home a idk how to explain it but like a breath of fresh air for something new.
Who do you find inspiring in the music world, and are you a fan of any other genres or acts that might prove surprising to your fans?
No I don’t find too many other artist inspiring as much as me.
Your social media presence is fairly elusive – is that a conscious choice, or do you have something big planned for the near future?
I have something extremely big planned for the future and yes a lot of more exciting music.
What’s your greatest ambition right now?
My greatest ambition is just building presence in the music industry.
How important is live performance, and where can people catch you on stage in the coming months?
A live performance is not that important to me. At the moment I have no performances.
Do you have any longer projects or collaborations in the pipeline?
Yes I’ll have many projects with many artist in the future.
What’s something you want people to know about Tnko?
Something I want people to know about TNKO is that I’m more special than most of the other artists out there.
Is there anything else you want to say?
No there nothing I would like to say other than that I’m going to be young and turnt for life.
