Hey – thanks for the interview, and congrats on the new single! For those who don’t know, who is Kidd Clxoud, and how would you describe your approach to music?
First of all thank you very much, Kidd Clxoud is an up-coming Pop star who wants to remind the world that not all music is bad music. I would describe my approach to music as Pop 80s or mainly old-school Pop. It’s a mixture of Pop and RnB with some Old School vibes.
What can you tell us about the single S-E-R-E-N-A, what does it mean for you?
SERENA is my first Pop song that was influence by The Weeknd and Michael Jackson, it has this 80s beat that is breathtaking. SERENA means a lot to me, it hits home.
Do you produce your own music, or collaborate?
I do both but sometimes I mainly produce my own music.
What was it like growing up in Port Arthur, Texas, and in what ways did it influence your style and taste in music?
Growing up in a small town like Port Arthur was rough, but I made it with GOD by my side. Little known fact – Port Arthur has a history of music and it influenced me a lot, the Old School vibe.
What do you have planned creatively over the coming months?
SERENA is just the beginning of a long road so over the next month or so I’ll be releasing my new single.
Is live performance a big part of your plans?
Yes, most definitely – I want to experience the audience and the people first hand and vice versa.
If you could sit down for a chat with anyone at all, past or present, who would you choose – and what would you ask them about?
It would be Michael Jackson. I’ll ask him what does it take to become the the King of Pop.
What’s your biggest ambition or dream right now?
My biggest ambition and biggest dream right now is to show the world who Kidd Clxoud is and become the next and the first Prince of Pop.
Is there anything else we should know?
Yes, to all my fans – I want to thank y’all for loving and supporting my music; you guys hold a special place in my heart. And to the people who never heard of me, I am Kidd Clxoud, and if you haven’t heard Serena yet you should go check it out.
