This brand new album from Makis is a broadly eclectic and colorful collection of Australian songwriting – classic hits re-imagined under a fresh creative light; and it’s a pleasure to listen through.
A stunning composition, simply put – not only a fine display of superb musicianship, but a genuinely original audio journey that promises great things for the future of original musical scores.
Kinesus takes the time to attentively create intentional, meaningful music, and this album is a fine celebration of that.
Always the artist toys with the very fabric of sound design, and always he maintains a sense of audience awareness – a knowledge that experimentation alone can lose attention, but combine it with the artistic building blocks known to appeal, and you’re onto a winner.
This project seems fit to accompany the angst & uncertainty, the isolated intensity, of 2020. Quite possibly a personal favorite from the band so far.
Working its way up from ambient, hypnotic beginnings, through vibrant and energizing tracks, each one flowing on beautifully from the last, July’s Footwork is an inspiring collection of instrumentals that light up the room with ease.
Creative composer Donna O. Raphael takes a notably refreshing approach to crafting original music. This album, volume 2 of D’strumentals, is something of an unexpected gem.
Spirit of Hope feels like the sort of medicine that you look forward to taking. And not just because you have to. May it enter into you and enhance your hopefulness, too. A tremendous album.
Buffalo Mend offers up another full-length album, blending distortion and softness, melody and grit, intensity and thoughtful delicacy, in a brilliantly immersive, thought provoking way.
This natural set-up, these finely tuned performances – we’re all missing the live scene and the festivals right now. Fortunately, Get Down & Funk is here to do its absolute best to fill the gap. Enjoy.
Awakening the rock soul within, DEARBONES have achieved a guitar sound with this project that’s all at once intensely nostalgic, gritty, and brilliantly well-suited to the emotional, passionate mood of the band’s songwriting.
