Summer vibes and impressively skilful, intricate sound-design – a producer and artist at the top of his game. Eric Robertson is the creative behind all things Disintegration C.E; an electronic music DJ and composer with over 25 years of experience at the helm.

From a lifelong passion immersed in the melodic realms of tech house and house music, to finally releasing his own original mixes in 2024, Disintegration C.E. leads with a passion for the process first and foremost. This means that each release presents a sense of fully visualised escapism which you can feel from the moment you press play.

It’s a balancing of quality and conceptual embrace that’s admittedly rare amidst the rise of automated, AI-generated dance and electronic sub-genres, and it’s not something worth trying to fake.

On that note, the latest single Honeycomb is a beautifully modest, creative and distinct ambient tech track, with fragments of voice, tribal rhythms, playful synths, and bass notes, all scattered artistically throughout a melodic, keys-led arrangement that’s both nostalgic and fresh.

Dreamy voices and retro-gamer-like riffs carefully unite the unexpected and the satisfying, as the disco-kissed alternative optimism and earworm qualities of Honeycomb rain down. Then we get heavier doses of voice, a subtle twist of something like old-school UK garage and pirate radio, along with a blend of modest influences from throughout the nineties and early 2000s. In short, Honeycomb is playful but grounded – an ambient warmth uniting recognisable traits and softly rising frequencies that naturally immerse the listener.

It’s a stand-out style right now, and this release can be a calming soundscape if needed, but it can also energise, awaken, and excite. That choice is down to the listener, and a key part of what makes Disintegration C.E. stand out as a modern producer.

With thousands of monthly listeners already tuned in to a growing catalogue of tunes, Disintegration C.E. brings a tropical bounce to the summer scene with this release, but versatility has long since been a defining characteristic.

Consider the funky groove, quirky layers and grittier tone of Bitter for the Both of Us, a tribal and sweeping set-up presenting an infectious floor-filler that’s again both familiar and excitingly new.

The diversity from one track to the next is impressive, and yet, still always grounded by this kind of clear fascination for the fluidity of composition, and the sheer comforting appeal of a consistent tech house groove.

Ideally crafted for both the rave and the festival, as well as the more intimate late-nights with friends, there are a multitude of mixes and original tracks alike on Soundcloud and Spotify, which forever intertwine work ethic and an unwavering love for making music that connects and uplifts people.

That degree of balance has proven defiant over the past twelve months, and while Honeycomb is perhaps the culmination of years of respect and adoration for the music, it’s also a fine example of the intricate, thoughtful and colourful approach taken by Disintegration C.E. as an aspiring master of the electronic dance arena.

Straight out of Denver, Colorado, Disintegration C.E. brings an air of historical depth and ability to the forefront, appreciating the audience for whom the music is intended, whilst celebrating a fun and freeing level of commitment to the pure joy of creating layers, melodies and sounds that work well within a catchy and enlivening groove.
