Poetic and personal from the outset, Walls talks on the weight of the past and the effort it takes to overcome issues of mistrust after a hard experience.
At its core, Walls is a love song – a track of longing for connection and oneness – and it presents this in a notably contemporary fashion; in both the style of the music and the way the lyrics express modern sentiments.
Somewhat emo-rap inspired to begin with but ultimately walking the path more commonly known these days amidst the likes of Machine Gun Kelly and band, Walls introduces a thoughtful and melodically engaging Lielack. The feature from Kelaska also adds a beautifully welcomed dynamic to an already catchy, honest and authentic piece of writing.
Faultlessly performed by both, appropriately delicate in its addressing of the details, Walls proves itself to be nothing like its image might imply, and is increasingly likeable throughout a short yet effective lifespan. I look forward to hearing more.
