At the same time, the track builds up beautifully, offering a contrasting edge of uplifting energy to the progression – which works well to prevent things from falling too deeply into the depression of the concept.
Underneath this is the song’s subject matter, the lyrical delivery and performance – an aspect that grows more impressive as the whole thing evolves. Flatlinerz moves from melody to rap, from calmness to near-chaotic and passionate, faster-paced outpourings.
