cmon3tta 98.6 Degrees (c33haw! Remix)

-

Live and invigorating banjo brings to life an already enjoyable modern disco floor filler – cmon3tta takes full advantage of the freedom of creativity, with this c33haw! remix of the rather classic Whitney and Betty Who-inspired 98.6 Degrees.

Instantly uplifting for its organic, knees up folk-rock and pop essence and jam, this remix is close to impossible to dislike – cmon3tta recorded the banjo live for the remixed version, and the track runs away with the energy and good vibes of that new take, and this folk and Celtic aura, which sets the mood beautifully for the daytime festival season.

In my view, this arrangement makes 98.6 Degrees all the more accessible, blending the earworm quality with something live and genuine, an addictive edge of real musicianship, and uniquely countering that with a flood of vocal effects alongside. If you hadn’t read our previous feature on the original 98.6 Degrees, the long-time indie pop artist cmon3tta took the advice of listeners and left the performance vocally raw and stripped-back at first, but now throws a new edge of character into a song that’s cleverly organic instrumentally, but fully immersive and retro on the vocal side.

You have to hear it to know, but that opening banjo riff should get you instantly hooked. Turn this one up loud.
