Creative duo WhO is WhO celebrate their passion for footwear and music all at once, with the funk-kissed tones and disco-esque charm of ShOOes.
Built around a rhythmic guitar line and funky, nostalgic bass, ShOOes is quick to outline both the subject of its writing and the sound and character of WhO is WhO. The style takes us back to a simpler era, the title redirects us towards a fresh and quirky topic, and meanwhile the visuals back this up with relevant scenes of the shoe factory and the duo lost in the dancing and music made by their shoes.
Also featuring an unexpected twist of French rap during the latter half, ShOOes introduces a duo clearly in love with the process of making music. It’s a fun and laid-back, colourful presentation – a quirky pop-disco track with multiple layers of instrumental warmth and even a tap-dance solo.
There’s plenty to be said about the distinct and unmistakable sound of ShOOes right now. Though the style tips its hat to the disco-funk legends of the past, the performance, the structure and various layers – especially the theme – all breathes new personality and flair into the genre. The premise is simple:
“Some people love tattoos, well we love shoes.”
