An aptly titled and faith-driven Everything Gon Work Out features a series of gorgeous, calming melodies, with vocal features that keep things interesting, leaning towards dancehall and hip hop before returning to the timeless soul of the hook.
Lyrically the song is as reflective and hopeful as its title implies. There’s realism in the verses, poetic honesty that feels poignant and heart-breaking in its depth, but there’s ultimately a clear sense of possibility in the hook and the overall concept.
From one verse to the next each artist takes the stoplight and effectively aims it at some other issue or feeling regarding cotemporary struggles. The structure is faultless, interesting in its genre-blending, yet still always in tune with its own intentions and degree of purpose.
Stunning, really well crafted, from the heart yet stylish and totally worthy of a modern audience – especially given the turmoil of the past year and a half.
