Tom Morfitt-White Love Me Now EP

-

For the highly-anticipated release of the EP from which the stunning original song Love Me Now emerged, Australian artist Tom Morfitt-White delivers a beautifully fitting four-track collection, which not only confirms the talent of the title-track, but actually doubles down on it.

Following the opening and unmistakable Love Me Now, Home brings out that iconic honesty and purity of Tom Morfitt-White’s voice and detailed storytelling, only this time we get a picked acoustic guitar and subtle harmonies lighting up a rising passion that’s sublimely evocative.

The song is so engaging and evolves in a powerful way, the nuance of the voice capturing attention increasingly, and the depth and resolve of the lyrics, suddenly so poetic and profound during the chorus, walks hand-in-hand with this quality.

The EP then moves into an all the more impassioned crescendo of strings and harmonies for Blood is The Knight, something again alternative and interesting, as was the introduction to Tom Morfitt-White from the single Love Me Now. Cleverly reframing the struggle of self-harm, the sound is almost pop-punk but not, kind of theatrical, performative and charming, and the revelations, the vulnerability, the scorn and freedom of the writing, all holds your interest throughout.

Then to finish, Fall further bridges that gap between artist and audience, with a personal deep-dive that feels like modern pop in its growing energy and the first-person declarations that naturally connect. The song follows a modest structure, not reaching for an anthemic chorus but holding your attention through fast yet gentle reflections; on the self and the changing stages of relationships.
