Slick riffs and faultless band unity offer a conceptual narrative experience that’s eclectic, impassioned, and fiercely enchanting. Time For Action deliver a fully immersive listen, with the six original songs, three acts and stories, of MAD REVOLUTION.
Featuring distinct vocals and a fine balance between rock, new metal, and atmospheric design, MAD REVOLUTION is a trilogy of EPs, from which Risk It All marks the first instalment. The inspiration for the project was an envisioned world ruled by a tyrannical regime, within which individuality is deleted, and a revolutionary movement must ignite the final fight for liberation.
Blood Drips is the opener, a song that takes no time at all to assert its brilliance as a finely-crafted, heavy-toned rock track with a stunning riff. Whispered and breathy vocals provide respite during intriguing, cinematic verses, as we roll and rise towards an immense, anthemic and memorable hook section.
It’s a powerful introduction, a great rock track in itself, and a fine indication of the unique identity and sound of Time For Action.
Next we get the brilliantly creative, dramatically structured for impact Miss Vane – a superb original rock track, which, for me, secures the intrigue and character of Time For Action as an engaging and interesting new band. The arrangement and the voice, the lyrics and the emotion, the melody, all connects perfectly here, and you crave a live show but at the same time lose yourself completely in the anthemic depth and appeal of the studio capture.
Something like blues rock and Muse blends for the stylish and seductive Tiger’s Jaws, a mellow change of pace that’s welcomed within the mix, the band’s performative charm and unity resounding well. Then for Set My Heart on Fire, suddenly we’re guided by piano and a reverb-kissed ambiance, and welcomed into a euphoric story of emotional longing, connection, and passion.
A huge performance lays down the Time For Action emotional presence and power as a live act, and the style again brings a touch of Muse towards something like Radiohead, The Smiths, even The Manic Street Preachers. It’s an enchanting blend of qualities, and this cinematic highlight is one of the more recognisable songs from this EP.

To consider the tyrannical regime and the revolution of the underlying story, The Muse Has Left Your Heart is absolutely a standout track from Risk It All. This cascading rock opera is intoxicating, the rising tempo euphoric at its peak, and the vocal nuance, the passion, the delivery, the lyrical prowess, all makes for a gripping and rather addictive alternative rock track.
This immense song is followed by the more intimate riff and whisper of Will U Risk IT All?, and chapter one effectively comes to an end with snappy, sharp lyrical refrains, and one last explosive rock chorus and crescendo that’s intensely uplifting. A huge celebration and allure, a sensational arrangement and performance, and a lasting, lingering sentiment that’s aptly designed to inspire, motivate, and move its audience towards true liberation.
