The Night Years - Back To Me - Stereo Stickman

The Night Years Back To Me

-

Pop-punk vocals and an organic pop-rock set-up meet with somewhat country-esque song-writing for this heartfelt, nostalgic new single from New York City’s The Night Years.

Building up beautifully and switching gears unexpectedly throughout, Back To Me progresses from these punk-pop opening moments – where the vocal is the focus, the emotion and the colourful riffs – into an ultimately immersive and anthem-like hit of energy for the hook. Here we see additional voices fill up the outer layers, along with a fuller instrumental in general, and the result is a huge moment of unity; an addictive chorus that acts as a catchy and memorable pop highlight.

Taking a little inspiration from nineties pop-rock acts like Goo Goo Dolls, along with a more contemporary arena-style sound for that chorus, Back To Me leads with the timeless qualities of a great song. The organic set-up and the natural passion of the band also helps really highlight their ability as a live act. Impressive all round, and a pleasure to listen to.
