The Get Alongs Second To None

-

Classic indie rock grooves and good vibes a-plenty rain down from superb Toronto band The Get Alongs this season.

Blending the passionate rasp and soulful grit of The Stones with the snappy and anthemic energy of 60s garage rock (and a twist of power pop alongside), Second To None includes timelessly addictive jams like Come On, and euphoric crescendos that naturally uplift, throughout remarkable highlights such as 9 Times Out of 10.

The Get Alongs are a live band, without question, and that quality resounds on this album. Consider the all-together-now pace and presence of Sunday Afternoon; a personal favourite, with a hint everything that made rock and roll great back in the day.

Then there’s the sonic atmospheric mixing of songs like Haunt, the heavier repetition and hypnotic power of One And Everything, and an all-round impressive sense of unity and catchy songwriting letting the band stand tall in their own right.

From an unmissable act for 2026, this project is grounded in a sound that’s easy to recognise as The Get Alongs, but it also promises eclecticism from the riffs, the mood, the energy and colours of each song. Secret Shopper is fantastic, almost surf-rock-esque and beautifully upbeat in its optimism and brightness.

Find Second To None the album on all platforms from June 19th.
