Ten Thousand Monsters - Sweet MF - Stereo Stickman

Ten Thousand Monsters Sweet MF

-

The UK’s own Ten Thousand Monsters are a band who grab attention from the offset with this single – and make it close to impossible not to stay locked in right the way through.

Fusing superbly haunting and thoughtfully crafted instrumentation, with a gritty and passionate rock vocal that seems purely born to perform in this way, and all the while utilizing contrast between weight and space to a brilliant degree – Sweet MF pours through with the blues rock swagger and classic grunge roar more recently brought to life by the likes of Band Of Skulls.

Lyrically there’s plenty that intrigues and for the thinkers and observers to appreciate throughout the journey. Changes in pace musically are met by lyrical moments of pause and reflection, ultimately presenting a song that toys with your emotions and your energy levels in a superbly artistic and relevant manner. Then things build, they twist and turn, and the latter half completely envelops its audience in a huge moment of intensity and anthem-like melody combined. Even the title itself takes full advantage of contrast, the very terms sweet and motherf*cker existing in stark juxtaposition with one another.

Brilliant, a huge debut and a band well worth knowing about. I look forward to catching a live show.
