Stephon Foster - No Signal - Stereo Stickman

Stephon Foster No Signal

-

Back in action after a two-year hiatus, Stephon Foster takes on the mixed signals and unrequited attractions that everyone experiences at some point in their lives.

From his upcoming album Anything is Everything, set to release August 7th, No Signal brings back Stephon Foster’s unmistakable falsetto RnB vocal, but this time weaves in an immersive floor-filler dance groove, complete with enchanting synths and an upbeat house rhythm, to really inject something fresh into the repertoire.

Promising one of Stephon Foster’s best hooks yet, No Signal rolls around with passion and structure carefully intertwined, blending nostalgia and something creatively fresh, but also holding closely to that vocal authenticity that is the live vocal take and the generally unedited, honest performance style.

Then we get the pre-chorus, something like nineties soul and RnB building up, before we drop into the fully hypnotic rhythm and harmonised resolve of the hook. That need to connect, but the sheer silence or blank expression on the other side, rings out at this moment, and both the concept and the emotion, even the rhythm, the melody and subtle euphoria of the mix, all helps reinforce that central theme and feeling really well.

This is easily the most accessible and impactful song from Stephon Foster yet, and it marks a huge new chapter in the artist’s journey. He’s working towards something big, and No Signal is the perfect gateway into that.
