Parquét - Ciudad Norte - Stereo Stickman

Parquét Ciudad Norte

-

A beautifully promising debut single, part of a week of impressive releases – they do say great music comes from times of great difficulty.

Parquét blend a lightly reverb-kissed, shoegaze ambiance with the warmth and emotion of a rock ballad, and contrastingly breathy, expressive vocals. Inspired by the likes of Nothing, DIIV, The Cure and My Bloody Valentine, Parquét help alternative rock fans get their fix with original songwriting and an overall nostalgic yet refreshing style.

There’s something decidedly dreamlike about this release. Even with the language barrier, this melody and these words, the structure of the song, the bliss-full guitar riffs and the overall subtle yet immersive finish – it all works well to connect and allow listeners to fully escape into the moment.

The drop from delicacy into the full-throttle power and energy of the hook is particularly uplifting, an immense moment that energises and begs for you to turn it up louder.

Contrast utilised to a bold degree, performances balancing heart, soul, and skill. I can’t wait to hear more from Parquét in the near future.
