Pariz Noir - Las Olas - Stereo Stickman

Pariz Noir Las Olas

-

Contrasting big beats and a warm, synth-led soundscape, with the absolute delicacy of a higher-toned vocal lead, Las Olas proves as exotic and ambient as the title implies; introducing Pariz Noir in a uniquely memorable way.

From the opening moments, there’s a likable groove and fusion of genres to the track. You get lost in it fairly quickly – the set-up has been professionally crafted to allow that. The hook is where things go from good to great though. This cleverly subtle moment hits with a sudden addictive strength, looping its phrasing around you in a mesmerising fashion. Meanwhile the track continues to weave its web of multi-layered, colourful ambiance, and Pariz balances poetic observations with deeply intimate, romantic personal references.

Las Olas is something of a timeless, increasingly enjoyable release – the sort that’s notably easy to escape into, and yet still offers genuine insight as to the identity and mindset of the artist. It’s indulgent, but not overwhelming in being so, and that creatively dark flair really adds a little edge. Nicely done.
