Parachute Eyes Thoughts Escaping

-

Something refreshingly real, simple and engaging – instrumental tracks built around gentle to fiercely passionate guitar playing, from an elusive Parachute Eyes.

To introduce the unique composition style and playing of Parachute Eyes, Thoughts Escaping is ideal. The release opens up with a sincere and distinct, undistorted guitar tone and melody, and sets a likeable groove for around three minutes, before shifting suddenly but fittingly, to a more distorted, power-chord and structurally intense approach.

The structure is key, the artistic painting of a song and story helping make this track all the more satisfying in its realism and performative embracing of the moment.

Also worth hearing is the more full-band focused head-banger Everything. This track goes straight for the mosh pit groove of power-chords and live drums, but still holds close to that much-needed realism in the musicianship.

Another riff follows, this time haunting, dark and enchanting, and we proceed through over eight minutes of carefully crafted, emotional and intentional live music.

The playing is concise, on point and alluring, without being too show-offish or impossible to connect with – far from it.

That’s the welcomed quality of all things Parachute Eyes, the music considers and welcomes its audience, and the melodies and structural shifts are all part of the appeal of these rather cinematic, fully imagined compositions.

Finally, something a little more pop-punk-like initially, later veering towards progressive metal that’s again both original and unmistakable. The nostalgia is clear, the old-school influence, but the music itself feels decidedly new in both tune and purpose. Five marks a fine example of that balancing of skill and substance at the helm.

The track is 5.5 minutes in length, with an atmospheric moment of quiet and rising anticipation during the mid-section, and the rebuild after this is somewhat modest but mighty in satisfying and concluding the journey; another trait that proudly connects all tracks from the Parachute Eyes collection.
