Lincoln producer and artist Octone delivers a quirky gem of a dance track, with the unique layering and bounce of Hidden Bean.
Crafted around a sort of haunting and delicate ambiance, with a consistent drum and bass rhythm that’s familiar but non-intrusive, the track is all at once nostalgic and confidently original.
All of a sudden we’re immersed in this fairly cinematic realm of unexpected samples and sounds, even with moments of stop-and-start intensity woven in, to further that ethereal aura presented by the track and its pulsating associated visual.
Somewhat minimalist by design but welcomed for its humility in that regard, Hidden Bean is intriguing and likeable as it fills the space, noting equal parts creative freedom and outright precision from a production angle. The track works its magic at volume, and can offer either energising uplift or thoughtful calm, depending on what you need from it.
