Well-written, snappy and effective from the get-go, Words is a hook built into a hook – a long-form outpouring of poetic reflections on the value and depth of Words.
It’s a clever analysis, as well as a memorable and rather addictive reggae jam, fusing ska and indie rock traits across a UK festival aura that naturally feels fit to stand the test of time.
I’m really hoping the vocals aren’t programmed, but the tone and effects sadly say otherwise. A live performance would be next level if Michael P O’S can pull that together. Plenty of powerful and soulful indie singers could knock this one out of the park. Words is a huge indie pop and ska hit in the making. Turn it up loud.
