Merrin - Machine Mind - Stereo Stickman

Merrin Machine Mind

-

The creatively uninhibited, hard-rock act Merrin return this summer with a brilliant fusion of versatility, superb musicianship, and engaging songwriting.

Operating by means of a select few distinguished sections, the structure of the track works hard to keep you interested and to keep things moving right the way through. This includes multiple vocals, and a mighty switch from the heavy-metal roar to a more melodic, almost 80’s rock sort of soulful outburst.

Contrast is further exemplified by instrumental changes – distorted power chords move into stylishly meandering solos, the fast-paced drum-line kicks into more of a marching beat, and all the while the various moments and layers intertwine in a flawlessly professional way. You get the impact of sheer creativity, a concept explored with fearless artistry, and absolute precision musically – leading to a thoroughly satisfying and classically Merrin-soaked sound.

There’s something a little Skin-like in the main vocal, a trait that’s always recognizable in Merrin’s music, and this unique manner of songwriting is swiftly becoming a further quality tied exclusively to this band.

Without a doubt, as and when the live scene and festivals return, Merrin will be right up there with the best of them. Not to be missed.
