Magazine Gap - Superficial - Stereo Stickman

Magazine Gap Superficial

-

Turn this one up loud – a beautiful new track from the superb Magazine Gap. As always, creative intention leads the way, and this is what the band do best.

Superficial operates as perhaps their most catchy, infectious and even memorable track to date. The soulful brightness and funk that kicks in as things build is fantastic; precisely the remedy to our current times of uncertainty and dismay.

What I love about this is the build up of everything – the lyrics get more and more captivating, thoughtful and fresh, the music rises up in unison; this classic, instrumentally supreme, organic band set-up. The pace feels like it increases too, as the passion heightens and the sentiments snowball towards an ultimately well-rounded, perfectly well expressed concept.

All the while, the rhythm and good vibes, those sensational vocals, proceed to envelop the listener like a classic nineties pop-rock beauty. A crystal clear offering of absolute talent – superb songwriting, gorgeously performed; as ever. A UK gem well worth supporting.
