Ltronnika Fantasy World (Original Playlist)

-

Some time has passed but the name and style proves no less recognisable. Ltronnika ventures into the calming ambiance of melodic, mellow instrumentals, for the likes of the brand new single Fantasy World.

One of eight recent originals to emerge, Fantasy World adopts a somewhat more neo-classical, synth-led groove, with lashings of colour and optimism – than perhaps the more retro-electronic tones of previous releases. The accompanying visuals further the sense of lightness and the melodic journey and excitement of the composition, and as ever, Ltronnika’s freely meandering playing gives the music a distinct sense of adventure and evolution.

Next we enter the realm of Pure Energy, organic world-music instrumental traits paving the way for an intriguing, almost smoky jazz bar or European aura. The guitar at the forefront, the fingerstyle, is impressive in redirecting us to some new arena of sound and feeling. And once again, Ltronnika plays with freedom and soul, but never at the cost of connection or attention. The music holds you captive as it progresses, remains relevant and fluid, and that makes all the difference. The ambiance and optimism is pleasure to let fill the space around you.

For Island Paradise, the positive energy continues, and the front-line melody utilises subtle bends, alongside a mildly tribal or summertime groove that once more captures the essence of creative play; whilst maintaining its roots, for a dreamy and aptly island-ready vibe.

The presentation of these new tracks is undoubtedly one that seeks to hold onto the warmth and escapism of the summer season, but things do get a little more contemplative and uncertain as we move along.

Continuing into Drifting Away, the ethereal tones and depth of this mass arrangement of layers feels both vast and intimate in its appeal. The sound is rightfully hypnotic, the melody distant, the bassline upfront, and as we fall back into simple piano and quietness, a level of rising anticipation is quick to get the mind wandering.

Perhaps the most memorable and uplifting melody of the new collection, Symphonic Dance is everything its title promises, a long-form melody and consistent underlying rhythm uniting traits of various instruments, in order to get the body feeling calm but ready to move. The mind is freed from responsibility for a while, and the musical choices offer a fine balance of the unexpected and the satisfying to keep you captivated until the end.

Celebration Time is also notably smooth and perhaps melancholic to a degree, a stylish melody again drawing inspiration from world music tones and instruments, whilst an upbeat rhythm keeps things growing and engaging. Then for Run Free, we re-enter a mellow and dreamy space – a thoughtful realm that captures the soothing essence of running away and finding peace in some other location.

Wrapping things up is the track Fascination, an echoing arena of rising notes and descending bass, something of a mirror-chamber of reflecting ideas and melodies that build and envelope the listener. There’s a certain lightness and humble euphoria to this track, a meeting between the meditative and the energising, and as such, it marks a fine example of the creative ability and artistry of Ltronnika.
