The weight and late-night darkness of trap, fused with a story that refreshingly captivates – LennyDaLux keeps things relevant yet interesting on this latest release.
Far from his introduction to the scene but a heavy step forward in terms of complex bars and the sheer intensity of the voice, No Talkin’ impresses for its ability to hold your attention on vocal ability alone.
The soundscape is simple, a little familiar, a beat and a synth progression uniting to guide things along. Elsewhere it’s DaLux drawing you in, building a scene and laying out the foundations of the story.
The hook resolves in an equally simple way, cleverly inviting interest from the broader hip hop community for that familiarity and anthem-like recognisability. In between these moments though, a varied flow and increasing pace meet with compelling, poetic and personal lyrics, to really elevate the whole thing. Nicely done.
