Lauren Rosas - Satellite Skies - Stereo Stickman

Lauren Rosas Satellite Skies

-

Lauren Rosas’ latest release is yet another stylish and smooth piece but one that leans notably towards creative freedom – ultimately offering perhaps her best track yet.

Satellite Skies evolves slowly but surely, growing to become more and more immersive and enjoyable in the process. A simple set-up engages and calms from the offset – a light beat, Rosas’ unmistakable vocal tone and style, and a generally gentle ambiance and vibe that’s refreshing in itself. As things move forward, the switch to the hook is superb – a subtle emotional and melodic peak makes for a welcomed moment of brightness, lifting the vibe, enhancing the effect of the underlying groove, and finishing the track off in a brilliantly satisfying way.

Coming in at just two minutes thirty five, the song is over before you really get a chance to familiarize yourself with the lyrics and the changes within. The benefit of this though, is that it creates an addictive aura – you’re likely to replay the track, and again after that. Each new time you press play, those details and intricacies that give this such a refreshing sound stand a little taller, and the song’s concept and its quiet emotional strength connect in a more striking way.

A beautiful single, humble yet recognisable, feeling a little trip-hop-like in nature; though with an alternative and soulful edge.
