Knarly Jones’ name meets his style of artistry in a perfectly fitting way for this latest release. Atonement is a heavy hitting track, melodic and dreamlike intermittently – intense and indeed fairly gnarly once the build up and subsequent drop crash onto the scene.
All of this is brilliant, making for an awesomely uplifting, energizing piece of music, ideally designed to get you geared up for the weekend – as well as offering a hint of times gone by in the sheer weight and distortion of the peaks.
The further along the track goes, and the louder you listen, the more immersive and immense the experience becomes. For the alternative EDM fan who revels in the high energy, thick and fuzz-soaked weight of the dead of the night on the dance floor, Atonement is everything the scene has been missing for quite some time. There’s a certain quality to the production, and an easy to appreciate realness and even soul to the details and the way the composition evolves, which leans notably in the direction of impressive and lasting skills in production.
Knarly Jones has crafted an absolute classic, one that utilizes contrast perfectly, and for all of these reasons this release is an absolute must for summer 2019.
