Kay Guss - Pressure - Stereo Stickman

Kay Guss Pressure

-

Haunting atmospheric introduction lays bare a strong connection to both Hip Hop’s past and present design. Soon enough, Kay Guss goes on to further bridge that gap, with hard-hitting bars both cleanly-mixed and intense alongside this contemporary trap rhythm and fierce sound-design.

Pressure is the brand new rap anthem from the rising artist, and it’s a track that refuses to be ignored.

Faultlessly produced, the very structure and set-up of Pressure is perfectly in tune with the grit and volume of Kay Guss’ own passionate delivery. That voice is no doubt the central guiding factor – the identity recognizable across releases – but without question, everything from the unsettling piano to the looping riff and vocal fragments scattered throughout gives the whole thing an added degree of depth and angst.

On the one hand, Pressure acts as an indie anthem for rap fans and inspired youths alike – a go-to that plays out and energizes with ease. On the other, the artistic roots impress from a production standpoint – the whole thing encapsulating the very concept of Pressure and this refusal to back down, by way of high-octane layers and the sheer attention to detail.

An effective take on modern Hip Hop. Hopefully there’s plenty more music to come.
