JPA Home

-

Creative production and catchy song-writing meet with melancholic openness regarding the concept of love as JPA leads with colour and contempt throughout a bold and brilliant Home.

Stylishly blending a plethora of pop-kissed intricacies, from the simplicity of the introduction, through the various synths and rhythms in the set-up, Home makes fine use of a varied, meandering vocal line.

Initially there’s a minimalist and easily memorable nature to the short lines, even with their lyrical depth, intrigue and uncertainty. Later though, longer-form melodic bars pour through, and always resolve with the unexpected brightness and energy of the hook – a moment that again effectively blends pop qualities with a more theatrical, big-band vibe of passion and immersive design.

The song’s final quarter in particular unites all of these traits for a genuinely uplifting yet emotionally exhaustive outro, which leaves the track and its melody lingering long after the music has finished.

Brilliant, in short – JPA has written from a place of clear experience, of love for music and song-writing, and with that comes an accessible track with mainstream potential but still more than enough identity and alternative personality to really reach out.

Creatively epic, and a total pleasure to listen through. Hopefully there’s plenty more to come.
