Alternative metal act and composer JERA presents an epic and emotive build-up through electronic progressions and conceptual intrigue for this latest release.
Emerging as something of a mellow, stripped-back substitute for the heavier side of metal, The Muse whispers through the speakers like a haunting moment of pause and melodic calm. There’s a clear sense of rising anticipation and intensity underneath this, delivered by means of a clearly immersed producer at work with the various layers and musical expressions of the track. This sees things quickly progress from simple, retro keys, through various scenes of electronic guitar and sci-fi-esque distortion.
Ultimately it’s melody that drives things, a select few lyrics offer guidance but the music is what builds the journey and the energy around you. The track rises and rises, increasingly enveloping listeners in this electronic-rock realm of rhythm and addictive fragments alike.
