Coming in at under two minutes, JameirKGolden needed to offer something striking and special in order to leave a mark with this release. Fortunately, that’s absolutely the case.
Mix Match Socks is a beautiful track, quirky from the offset but much deeper in concept than the title really allows. Creatively original and consistently impressive for the mere minute and then some that it plays. Fusing a fairly retro, ukulele-driven soundscape, and a delicate, distant vocal melody, with a heavy bass-line and a crisp, contemporary rap flow, the song is anything but familiar, and yet it makes perfect sense just the way that it is.
JameirKGolden has collaborated with Italian producer Hobbsrussle for this single, and it’s a match made in heaven. The song details the power of love and the lengths the artist would go to in order to protect the one he loves. There’s a certain mild intensity to his vocal style and delivery, suggesting he means what he says, and this creates a superb contrast with the absolute lightness and feminine energy of the ambiance. This particular fusion of genres works gorgeously, juxtaposing lightness with weight in a manner that effectively reinforces the underlying sentiments of the song.
Incredibly creative, short yet sweet, succinct – saying precisely and only that which needs to be said. An enjoyable and refreshing piece of music that takes a new look at contemporary hip hop, and introduces both the artist and the producer as uniquely expressive and passionate creatives. Well worth a few spins; one after the other after the other.

Definitely an artist to watch for Jameirkgolden, seems to have gained popularity all so quick i can do nothing but applaud him ! in front of the right audience i could see this kid making hit after hit.
