What begins as a scratch DJ demo of sorts, soon evolves through various details of an industrial soundscape, towards a soulful RnB vocal line and plenty of space for conceptual consideration.
The latter half of the track sees perhaps one of the most long-awaited drops in recent history kick into gear. aUTHENTIC quickly finds its groove, adopting a nineties-style, garage-kissed aura, blending addictive rhythms with seamless vocals that meander through these loving lyrics with effortless passion and precision.
Whenever things move towards complexity, it’s brief – sudden pauses, the introduction of a new layer or effect or sample. Soon afterwards, those equally simple yet hypnotic loops return to envelop listeners, inspiring movement with that rhythm and swagger once again, in the way that only a true and timeless anthem can.
FALL or FLIGHT have effectively wandered along the line between absolute artistic freedom and the clear building blocks of a mainstream, accessible hit.
