If ever a song was perfectly designed to open up a conceptually considerate project, Speak To Your Day is the one. A clear sense of funk meets with a Sermon-style spoken vocal that inspires confidence and invites the audience to participate.
Then comes a gathering of voices, soulful and melodic in beautifully energizing ways, and all of this is accompanied by a classic keys-led soundscape and the familiar, comforting clap of a beat. You can picture the scene, and you can’t help but feel great. ‘It’s gonna be a good day…’
As the project goes on, a surprising level of eclecticism stands tall. The second track leads with a hip hop style and a creative soundscape, still focusing on the Faith at the centre of the album, and still with a gorgeously soulful hook from a softly passionate choir.
