Freshly released from the brand new project Dial Tone, an elusive ElaYoshi gets creative and intimate throughout the uniquely ambient, mood-setting and lyrically unpredictable Come Over.
Leading with mystique and minimalism combined, a simple piano backdrop and vocal, spoken word for the most part, fragments of rhythm and lashings of space, Come Over sees the story-line and increasing passion of the performance take centre stage.
All at once the track embellishes the late-night and carefree nature of uninhibited hip hop, and the more ambient, romantic and intriguing sound of finely crafted trip hop and RnB.
In short, ElaYoshi has captured a sound of his own, with a stop-start arrangement that suits the changing emotion and grit of the vocal throughout this outpouring of desire.
Just two minutes and ten seconds in length, Come Over blends loving qualities and subtle angst in a captivating way. It will be interesting to hear where else the full-length project takes things as ElaYoshi furthers that creative reach all the more so.
