Released prior to the launch of his new and eclectic album Believe, Life Of The Party features bold electronic production, an unmistakable synth riff at the forefront, and pop-rock vocals that resound throughout both the looping hook and the versatile verses.
Those longer-form moments reinforce a sense of structure and change, adding hyper-vibrancy to an already attention-grabbing format, and underlining the central escapism and celebration that is the theme and purpose of the track.
Recognisable in both performance and design, Life Of The Party is a good representation of the playful and varied nature of Ehson’s songwriting manner. The Believe album in particular is a project loaded with riffs and bright, uplifting hooks, but never is confined by a single production style. The opener Accept has a similar make-up, with bouncy live drums and another short and concise instrumental melody, a nostalgic indie vocal thread, but already the sound is diverse.
Ehson Hashemian creates with freedom and precision combined, writing stories that feel laid back but interesting, intentional, and Life Of The Party is perhaps his most mainstream-pop-inspired take on that characterful approach.
