Eddie Lu YaoJing: From Chinese Film & TV Music to a New Global Chapter

-

Chinese composer, music producer and creative producer Eddie Lu YaoJing has entered a new international chapter in New York, following more than fifteen years of work across film and television music, artist production, recording and live entertainment in Greater China. His current artist-led project, The Next Hits, brings together contemporary production with elements of Chinese musical culture.

This noteworthy shift is a creative evolution that’s naturally reflective of YaoJing’s ability and passion, yet despite the depth of the latest project, the move is far from the beginning of his extensive journey as a lifelong musician.

For more than fifteen years, Eddie Lu YaoJing has worked as a professional music producer and composer, an OST producer and creative producer, across a multitude of films, TV shows, artist and commercial projects, and live entertainment campaigns within the Greater China music and entertainment industry.

These include credits as composer and co-lyricist on 《飞行时刻》 (“Flight Time”), performed by Han Hong as the theme song for the television drama New Horizon (《壮志高飞》), starring Joe Chen and Ryan Zheng; and as recording supervisor and vocal producer on 《我喜欢你》 (“I Like You”), performed by Zhao Lusi as the theme song for Dating in the Kitchen (《我,喜欢你》).

His approach intertwines several artistic disciplines, with both writing and production at the forefront of his drive to shape the sound of screen, stage and commercial projects across the board.

From original compositions to intricate creative production, direction and supervision, YaoJing has contributed to dozens of Chinese entertainment releases, and has intermittently launched a plethora of independent music projects as a solo composer.

The Next Hits delivers a strong introduction to his culturally versatile approach to making music. The collection is a producer and artist-led contemporary music project that moves across RnB, Pop, electronic production and Chinese musical influences, celebrating the transformative escapism of music as a universal and inclusive tool for expression and connection.

YaoJing’s current international chapter also includes SongKid Global, a New York-based entertainment company he founded to develop cross-border creative collaborations spanning music production, live entertainment and digital content.

For Lu, this international chapter is less a reinvention than an extension of the work he has developed over the past fifteen years — composition, production, recording and creative collaboration, now carried into a broader global context.”
