Lifting the mood beautifully this mid-October morning – roots rock and roll legends DownTown Mystic bring the honky-tonk keys and soulful vocals to warm the season, with the beautifully catchy Maybe Love’s a Crime.
Promising a sensational piano performance from keyboardist Jeff Levine (Joe Cocker, Hall & Oates), along with lush timeless rhythms and a beautiful groove created between Elton John drummer Steve Holley and Dion bassist Paul Page, Maybe Love’s a Crime is a raspy soul-rock injection of a nostalgia, which perfectly captures the live-band energy of a simpler time.
DownTown Mystic writer and producer Robert Allen brings through one of his most engaging singles yet, and only months after the release of two highly-acclaimed EP releases – Mystic Highway Road Trip and On E Street (Remix). The band’s work ethic is second to none, and the quality and passion remain equally impressive.
There’s something brilliantly seasonal about this newest jam, the keys sound sublime,, the vocals are on point, honest and moving, and the whole arrangement, melody and hook resolve give a clear sense of this being an instant classic.
