From lo-fi rhythms to live acoustic arrangements, LA’s Dannii Scott drives with creative freedom and strength of subject throughout his recent releases.
Saudade the EP leads with Ride The Wave, an artistic soundscape topped with a unique outpouring of lyrics and short rhymes; which intrigue and hold attention for their originality and subtle relevancy. Great production, laid-back yet interesting, loaded with intricacies to further the concept’s reach.
There’s a home-made finish to much of this EP, Dannii Scott’s own calm and care-free approach to making music standing tall in the muggy recording style and indeed the accompanying live performances. Not To Worry showcases this quality well, a dreamy hit of story-telling, building up towards an unexpectedly heavy beat.
All of these traits prove calling cards of Scott’s, his unpredictable writing style and the subtle sound-play within each song meaning there’s always a level of identity to the music.
