Releasing TODAY – the UK’s own Castles in Canopy unite sheer anthemic passion and pop-punk ferocity, for the heartfelt and energising new single Brace.
Introducing a uniquely distinct vocal lead and supporting voices that inject an all-together-now sense of oneness, Brace is a refreshingly honest and personal new single, from a band whose sound subtly intertwines aspects of indie rock and Brit-pop across a modern and fairly limitless creative aura.
The music is easy to get into, but more notably it’s the songwriting that stands tall – something that rings loud throughout their eclectic repertoire; as well as this careful balancing of upbeat grooves and deeply thoughtful, sometimes heart-breaking stories.
The band’s previous single Peculiar marks another fine example, and was actually the first release from Castles in Canopy to get featured on BBC Introducing. Then there’s the funky distortion and near-rapped punk-like presence and escapism of Spinning Circle Dreams, another brilliant testament to the poetry and outright artistic freedom of the band.
Castles in Canopy are far from new starters to the scene, and the established and passionate sound of each of their tracks speaks volumes on behalf of that distinct identity and devotion. Brace is a huge new single from the fast-paced four-piece, and highlights the best of their self-contemplative writing, catchy melodies, and seamless fusion of pop and rock qualities across an organic set-up.
