BLAZAR - Precious - Stereo Stickman

BLAZAR Precious

-

Forever blending hard work and clear character and passion on the music-making front, artist and songwriter BLAZAR hits the scene with yet another immersive, electro-pop anthem – this time with an immediately bright and memorable hook.

Precious kicks in like a classic soul-pop anthem from a simpler time, particularly once that hook falls into view. Throw in some paired falsetto vocals and a single-note verse line, and there’s a strong sense of influence from the likes of Prince. Even so, BLAZAR manages to make the overall progression and creative core his own, with plenty of artistically fresh detail – and all of this helps elevate the single with ease.

Undoubtedly one of his quirkiest and perhaps catchiest songs yet, there’s a subtle yet certain level of appeal to the new single. Production-wise this eighties-esque fusion of warm, fuzzy drums and retro-gamer synths is starting to make a welcomed come-back to mainstream pop, and from a songwriting perspective, the build up and switch from verse to hook is incredibly satisfying – the whole thing ultimately feeling like an easy hit for the masses. There’s even a clear hint of organic musicianship at play on occasion – little flickers of personality that further the track’s reach.

BLAZAR continues to impress as an artist and composer, consistently putting his own stamp on things, whilst paying clear attention to what works musically and structurally in modern music. Precious is a great track, with a mighty groove and memorable vocal lead. Really well done.
