Benjamin Kitay - Far In There - Stereo Stickman

Benjamin Kitay Far In There

-

Dreamy and colourful production sets a mellow vibe and stylishly contrasts the up-front, breathy and indie-rock style vocals of this uniquely contemplative, ambient new single rom Benjamin Kitay.

Featuring meandering melodies and moments of lyrical depth alongside simple vocal tunes in line with the groove, Far In There offers not so much a resolve but a lingering sense of uncertainty as its final hook trickles through.

Initially we’re greeted by this bass-led, electronic soundscape. Then comes the voice, quiet and intriguing, with these poetic yet personal references that further the listener’s need to connect and understand.

There’s something fairly raw about the delivery, almost live-style and disjointed on occasion when considered next to the faultless precision of the instrumental. As with much of the layout though, these traits seem intertwined with the song’s purpose, and all of them contribute to the generally immersive warmth and thought-provoking calm of the completed track.

Nostalgic in style yet refreshing in consideration and character. Hopefully there’s more music to come.
